The effect of Grímsvötn.....

.... one day after the eruption. It was scary. We had 10 cm ash on our car, it was only allowed to go in one direction.... and it was not the direction to the puffins, but you knew that already.

Die Auswirkung von Grímsvötn..... einen Tag nach der Eruption. Es war unheimlich, wir hatten 10 cm Asche auf unserem Auto uns es war nur erlaubt in eine Richtung zu fahren und es war nicht die Richtung zu den Papageientauchern, aber das wußtet ihr ja schon.

It must have been very scary to be covered in so much ash, but what an experience you had.
What did you think to the roads,,,,,,,,, some tarmaced and others just black volcanic ash with ridges either side to keep you straight. A wonderful place that is so very different.

ohhh - those forces of Nature - so strong, and your image really transmitting the darkness and gloominess and feelings .... with so much ash in the air the breathing must have been difficult !!
