Seagull

I happened to be out looking for people shots and came across seagulls dropping down to the water grabbing at small fish. I set up with a monopod, Canon EOS 10D, and 70-200 f/2.8 Sigma EX lens. I waited until a bird approached and then tracked it until it dropped to the water. Trial and error finally got me somewhat attuned to the best time to take a shot. What I captured was a really nice detail shot of a seagull. I was especially pleased with the highlights and play of the water in the image.

Hi Barry and welcome to fotocommunity. Seems like we both have the same camera! We also have the same way of learning, trial and error is how I do it too. Especially trying to catch a shot of my dog running. It sure isn't easy. I like your seagull, where did you take it?

hope to see more of you soon
