Pennsylvania | Amish farm stand |
Another glimpse of our round trip last year:
a farm stand in Leola, Pennsylvania, in the midst of Pennsylvania Amish of Lancaster County, the oldest American Amish settlement. Among Amish people you can live healthy. Fresh fruits, vegetables, organic food and most of it really homemade. Yummy!
The people are friendly and open-minded. We experienced great hospitality as guests of a Amish-Mennonite family.
We missed to visit "New Holland", well-known manufacturer of agricultural equipment and "Hershey´s", the American "Milka".
Some reasons to return this year for a longer time.

Du kommst gut herum in den Staaten, ein interessantes Leben. Deine Fotos bestätigen das :-)Die Amishs und ihre bewundernswerte Kultur und Lebenseinstellung hab ich aus Filmen und Dokus - vielleicht alles schon älteren Datums - kennengelernt.
Ist das alles heute noch genauso vorzufinden als feste Tradition ?

I like your series of memories from every State,Matthias .... this farmstand probably typical for
Pennsylvania and can be found in Ontario too ...

I hope you won't be disappointed in Hershey Chocolate, I don't think they make it with milk anymore. I think the bean counters got to it and figured out a way to make it cheaper and that resulted in a bad product. I'll take Milka or Lintz any day.Good shot of the market.

...great image of the Amish farm stand, great detail and color, well presented in this composition, they are of the Quaker faith and the last time I visited in the 70s they still did not use automobiles, electricity, or modern medicine and doctors, they also had a low tolerance for people taking their pictures.....Greetings,
