The Mackinaw Bridge spans the Straits of Mackinac and connects the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan.
Its one of the world´s largest suspension bridges. Overall its a 5 miles drive from shoreline to shoreline.

The center of the bridge is about 200ft (61m) above water level. Erection started in 1952 and the bridge with the nickname "Mighty Mac" was formally dedicated in 1958.
