Yasemin..i didnt get your question..if you're asking where are the patters..then the answer is the geometric pattern painted on the bodies, it's a very famous pattern! but if your question is what is the use of the islamic pattern...the theme in all my pieces,both photographs and paintings is the oppression of women and some minorities like homosexuals...the islamic pattern here is a symbol of middle eastern society and not an attack on Islam as a religion! I just wanted to explore the contradictions in the society. (e.g the existence of homosexuality and the fact that homosexuality is a sin ,banned by law in most of the arab states! ). Perhaps i used the pattern in a large scale because i didnt want it to seem very clear, the color of the paint is also very symbolic..those are the colors of the egyptian flag and the core colors in many other middle eastern flags!
