Happy Halloween

Today is Halloween (for the fans of tricks or treats) or All Saints' Day (for the rest). Despite the division, pumpkins are an integral part of the day and that's why I'm posting a picture of pumpkins :)

The story of the shot:
I hate getting up early (I really, REALLY hate it) and that's why I do it only when I really have to. In this case I had to get up for lectures at the university. I just got dressed, I got on the tram (to travel an hour and a half to get to campus) and I turned the phone on. And there it was - a mail from the teacher, saying that she won't be able to come and the class has been canceled.

But I'm up this early, so now I'm not at all sleepy. So I grab the camera. Which is currently with macro lens on. I decide that I'll be looking for bugs - in October. I couldn't find bugs, but I found some dew drops and these pumpkins.

This happened two years ago. The shot is not recycled however - I've just always posted the black and white version. I decided this year to process the colored one to convey the sense of a golden Autumn (I hope it worked).
So who says that macro lenses are only good for bugs?!

Really nice colors and a great composition. Well done! :) Even without having seen the black-white version I'm quite sure the colored one is nicer!
