The hint of coal smoke mixes with the invigorating nip of Winter in the air...
the rhythmic CHUFF-CHUFF-CHUFF draws ever nearer as the
Fichtelbergbahn steam locomotive challenges the grade with its train
of passenger cars, finally blasting out of the dark pine forest into the clearing...
the frost-covered tree limbs and the dusting of snow on the ground, with the
promise of more to come, enhance the joys of the Holiday Season.

A nostalgic look back to times when things seemed to happen at a more sedate pace...although this might just be our impression from our perspective.And at the station there will be a sleigh with its clear bells waiting to pick us up and take us to Santa's hut...
A winter fairy tale that is, as Matthias well states, exactly "what people love to see for Chrismas".
I love the way the glowing headlights and the red of the trains "bumper" warm up the freezing cold of this winter landscape, creating a lovely contrast.
