Die Kleine Riesin

1st to 4th Oktober a french group presented in Berlin their two giant puppets. During the four days, the girl searched her uncle throughout the city. On Day 3 she found him and they embraced. On Day 4, on which this picture was taken, the two marched together to the river and sailed away with a ship, maybe to the next city...
The Girl is 7m high and her uncle about 11m. They move with the help of a big crew and a few cranes, which make possible, that the puppets open and close their eyes and mouth and move slowly but very naturally.
It was a fascinating experience, the bridges and the park were full of people... and at the end, as the crew stepped onto the ship ans turned towards the crowd every one applauded, so that one could hear the clapping hands from far, far away.
