This male of the Common Adder I'd fotographed, after his first skinning in spring at the same morning.
After this skinning the male changes his whole behaviour. Since the end of his hibernation in february, the male do nothing but basking. Now his movements are very nervous and he begins to search for the females and the traditional mating places.
The matting season has begun.
