Castle ‘Beusdael’ at Sippenaeken (Belgium)

The history of castle ‘Beusdael’ goes back to the 13th century when the impressive donjon was erected which still dominates the edifice today.
All the walls of the donjon have a thickness of two meters and are built from limestone.

The residential wing left of the donjon was built in red brick masonry in the 16th or 17th century.
One can distinguish very clearly the 2 different building styles.

The castle is in good condition but the interior suffered heavily from military occupation during world war II.
