Castle ‘Altena’ at Kruibeke (Belgium)
This shot was made in the early morning hours while lots of moisture was evaporating in the environment, after a night of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The first castle on this spot was built in the 14th century.
The castle that we can see today was built in 1594, 10 years after it was destroyed by a huge fire.
An enlargement and restoration took place around 1878.
