Beam me up, Colani

That’s german industrial culture at its most whimsical: An elliptical body consisting of eighteen white, glass-fiber reinforced synthetic cells with four lightning rods has lighted on the structural frame of a former winding tower. Its windows look like oversized portholes of a submarine, its bright spotlights like the navigation lights of a lunar module, which make the structure look even more surreal at night. Which explains why the locals nicknamed the mysterious object on the landing site in Lünen “Colani UFO.
