2nd Floor room South Tower

Stokesey Manor House
A straight stairway cut into the right of the 1st floor room lead to the 2nd floor room. Before the fire in 1830 this room was reportedly divided into three by wooden partitions but orginally it probably formed a single room like the one beneath with two windows looking into the courtyard and the others facing south , and a fireplace on the east wall to provide of the windows ,almost over the entrance to the tower consists of two small rectangular lights and from outside looks more like a door than a window, it may have provided access to a wooden balcony or served as a point from which beds and other heavy items of furniture too bulky to be brought up the stairs were hauled to the second storey

Interesting to see, more from this room in this fine collage, very well exposed for the details and good sharpness too.
