Schlammspringer (Periophthalmus) sind eine amphibisch lebende Gattung von Fischen aus der Familie der Grundeln (Gobiidae). Der wissenschaftliche Name Periophthalmus kommt aus dem Griechischen und wurde wegen der hoch angesetzten Augen vergeben, die eine gute Rundumsicht ermöglichen.

Je l'ai vu récemment dans la très belle série "Life", diffusée sur Arte ; ce petit poisson est un des premiers a avoir quitté l'eau de mer et osé remonter une cascade, pour vivre plus en paix dans des eaux douces.
