Am Brückenkopf der Münsterbrücke thront das Waldmann-Denkmal, das zusammen mit der Silhouette des Grossmünsters ein Wahrzeichen Zürichs ist. Im 15. Jahrhundert schuf sich Waldmann als Kriegsherr einen Namen, wurde Zürcher Bürgermeister und machte sich durch sein despotisches Regime unbeliebt. Schließlich erzwang das Volk seine Enthauptung.
