Two SLR cameras stacked together is, from my own point of view one of the worst thing to shoot 3D pictures as in the better of the situation the distance between your two SLR cameras (because of the length of the lens) is always a lot more than 65 cm wide (ideal for most of the situation) as at first the lens have an average length of 70 mm by itself. So, even if you can put your lens side by side (something of almost impossible to do) you have always at least a stereo basis of 70 mm.

And if (like in this situation) your cameras are stacked together you can't reach a descent stereo basis for that kind of hyper-stereo configuration.
