All Creatures Great and Small (dt. Der Doktor und das liebe Vieh) - die Erinnerungen des Tierarztes James Alfred Wight, die er unter dem Künstlernamen James Herriot verfasst hat. Sie handeln vom Leben eines Tierarztes in den 40er und 50er Jahren in Yorkshire. Sie wurden so populär, dass sie Yorkshire den Beinamen "Herriot's Country" eingebracht haben.

Seine ehemalige Praxis, die er zusammen mit seinem Freund Donald Sinclair, dem Siegfried Farnon aus den Büchern, in Thirsk betrieb, beherbergt heute das äußerst sehenswerte Museum "The World of James Herriot".
