Lainici Monastery...

“In the 14th century, St. Nicodemus arrived with a background and a type of spirituality that we Romanians had never met before. God sent him to the Romanian Principalities to give an extremely important impetus to our country’s spirituality and culture. We all know St. Nicodemus had very strong cultural qualities, aside from his spiritual ones. St. Nicodemus then initiated the foundation of a great number of monasteries. He worked from west to east, going from the foot of the Carpathians where he founded the Tismana Monastery, then moving to Vodita near Severin, Topolnitsa, Visin. On the way out of the Jiu Gorges a series of ruins dating from the 14th century can be seen on the left-hand side, similar to those in Vodita. St. Nicodemus then continued his itinerary along the Jiu Valley. So, at the site of the Lainici monastery, he erected a building made of stone, and then we come to the last building that he directly founded - the Prislop Monastery in Hateg. He placed these monasteries as a string of holy places at the foot of the Carpathians. The campaign for the Catholicization of the Romanians of Transylvania had started in the 11th-12th century, so those monasteries were like pillars to support Orthodoxy and Romanian culture.”

Imi place fotografia asta si eu insumi am facut cateva fotografii la manastirile Tismana, Govora (superba dar mai putin vizitata decat celelalte) si Cozia. Pe plan tehnic totul e OK. Ca o sugestie, personal as fi asteptat sa-si faca aparitia ceva sau cineva (un calugar, o maicuta, o pisica jigarita, o gaina ratacita si speriata, etc....!!!) Fotografia ar fi devenit dintr-odata "mai vie", asa e numai documentara. Dar e OK si asa! Sper sa nu te deranjeze sugestiile mele care sunt desigur subiective!Numai bine,
