puffed up against the cold and sitting on a heap of food – a goldfinch's idea of heaven, i think! and he even seems to have caught a ray of sunshine with the tip of his wing! ; )) goldfinches are such beautiful creatures! i'd give them first prize in the "europe's most tropical bird" challenge, if a challenge like that ever existed! ; ))) oh, and they'd have to share their prize with the bullfinch of course! ; )) a beautiful capture, bryan! love how the sunkissed background matches his plumage! greetings, sabine.

Hi Bryan, a top shot of the Goldfinch. Great colours and details and I like how you have retained the softness in its feathers ..... I tried to get one of these yesterday .. but sadly it didn't turn out as well as this :-)
