The reason for the name for these Vancouver mountains is evident with a bit of imagination. They often have snow until mid-year and are not skiable.
They are quite far away, but the power of the telephoto lens brought them close...... still, they are high enough to be visable from many spots in town.

wow! just got here from the "barbed-wire shot"! great juxtaposition, adele!! this is a dream!! love the symmetry of the shot: those two appartment buildings in front "echoed" by the two mountain peaks in the back. all captured in a lovely "blue hour" mood! hugs, sabine.
Great shot, interesting contrast of nature and man-made buildings.
As I sad before, I wouldn't mind at all living in one of those buildings with such a breathtaking view (although I believe these are office buildings)

Very nice set up shot of the twin apartment blocks with the "Lions" in the middle. The mountains look enormous, especially if they are visible from many areas in the town.
