Not for me, just see my swiss flag nicely shot in the wind !! .. but ... some may pay fortune for that.. we had a very good theater piece in France : ART by exactly this subject.. bye VS
An appealing image. I like images with borders, but can't help but feel the white distracts from the main image. Lovely use of colours though. Very nice. :)
When various opinions arise as to "what is...?" I go back to the etymology. Art comes from the Latin word "ars", related to the Greek "art-ios", meaning entire, integral, without defects or missing parts. This implies beauty as well, i.e. an appearance without defects. This is merely related to the feeling one has on looking at a piece of Art and not the conclusion of a logical analysis. Your image is a piece of Art because, enclosed in its totality, expresses everything about itself.
I tried to look at this picture for 15 minutes, to see the Art of the Photo. then I come back to see your statement. I put all my strength and feeling to all details and statements together. then I come with 2 colors, red and white. in my Opinion, Red symbolized Brave, and White symbolised Pure. When the white almost overcome the Red, then i thought you were lost. it seemed you were sad or losing something. and I think this photo is really symbolized the strenght you have left. I like your work of arts..greeting
This photo is wonderful and I would hang it on a wall for the feelings I find in it, and the serenity coming through.
What Tolstoï said.... I agree ... ;)
thank you for the welcome only been here a few days and i love this place
what is art ? The ability to answer that was not given to humans lets just be happy we can appreciate it.
I think art is related to the point of view. The society delcares art althought may an individual can declare something as art but still need to find a way to make it public.
art is art when the eye of person who is invisioning it captures it as art. everyone sees things in a different perspective.
envisioning a miracle, i see what i see
capturing an object on bended knee
colors magnificent, the lens is clear
as my finger begins to click
i begin to fear
did i conquer, did it stick
no matter, it is mine and i possess
the future of this interesting test.
enlarged, it will make a beautiful catch...
I'm guessing that art, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, i find beauty in strange things at times, but we all on here have the gift of looking at things in a different way , so we are very lucky in that respect.
I think that photography can be an art form and that digital has helped push this now, film to me was good but digital can't be beat now.
Many thanks for the welcome mail.
What is art? Does this photo answers? Or — the picture offered another question — more for feeling than for intellect. . . .
The theme is profound: HJSyberberg in his Parsifal-installation (Documenta vii) shows the change of st. Graal radiance from red to white (and Mark the Gnostic in his pseudomiracle change white wine in transparent chalice to red, as st. Irinæus report), — blood will be light, flash will be spirit, hard work will be joyful contemplation of the fruits, — but the light may become bloody, spirit may become fleshly and contemplation may become as a hard work. All this is about art. And what is about photo? Does its question is “profound”? The spectator stops rhetorical talking about work — and looks — and that`s good result (Wagner`s Parsifal asked: “Wer ist der Gral?” Gurnemanz replayed: “Das sagt sich nicht. . . Sieh!”) . . . But does the pause in talking is really deep?
Minimalism is in search of the symbol that pose obstacle for mind. This picture is good essay on such way, but not the invention. Standard format with nonrealistic minimal image and galvanizing question in title — bella idea! — But the frame of invitation mail substantially supports this paradox.
The invention of said Mark Rothko (better — of the abstract expressionism) was the colored surface. When we abstract image from material surface — we may activate some other elements for replenishment of the language, e.g. integrate “literary” title, citation, author`s comment into image (imitation of poster). This is not the question of this successful attempt. But this set up a base for the successful work.
