Käppele, built 1748-1752. The Pilgrimage Church can be found on a hillside overlooking Würzburg and the Main River. The Stations of the Cross lead up to the church through sycamore trees. The German term “Käppele” means “Little Chapel” - - - understatement?? :)

Wow, was für ein (Fast)Einstandswerk! Sehr feine Komposition, hervorragende Farben + Schärfe. Die Helligkeit genau richtig, und selbst der Rahmen gefällt.
Hier past wirklich alles!
Gruß
Manuel

Schönes Foto, ich bin meist zu Faul Abends auf die Festung zu fahren und das Käppele abzulichten, aber von unserem Dach habe ich einen schönen Blick über die Stadt! ;-)
Grüße aus Würzburg Rainer

WOW, excellent exposure. I know that this kind of shot isn't always easy to get a proper exposure. Great shot!

Beautiful photograph! I love the seeing stars in the sky.

This is the kind of photograph I want to learn to take. I have enjoyed all of your night photographs. Please post more!

I’m soo honered by this proposal of a precious friend - thank you very much indeed, John!!
You got carried away by the magic of the image my dear friend, as I was when I found myself standing there trying to picture it in order to share it with my soulmates… ;-)
The photo though is by no means a gallery photograph and I do agree with all that’s been mentioned here by Kay. I consider myself only a bloody beginner and I’m certainly glad to receive some USEFUL advice for improvement FINALLY! I’ve been literally BEGGING for it, - quite some times…
What I dislike about Kay’s comment: Why using such a strong term as “fake”? Disregarding the fact if is real or not - why not keeping it polite by calling it edited, worked on/up? ;-)

After noticing it’s been proposed for the gallery, my initial intention was to delete it right away since I was - and am embarrassed. Two or three nice words were enough to change my mind - the magic of kindness!! Thanks to those who like it and thanks to those honest enough to tell why you do not., I got the REAL award already… ;-)
Karin

Are you folks out there ready for a REAL gallery photo? - Take a look and vote accordingly on this one!:

wovo, 9.09.2005 at 13:52h

I agree with Kay and the photographer herself ;-)
Karin, I can't give you advice what went wrong.
One should know :
is the photo taken digital or is it a scan from a negative/slide,
what camera has been used.
My experience is - if I take photos under similar light condition I have lots of pixel errors . I can show some of those pics here in the size of 800/900 Pixel - but could show those in original size.
sorry for not beeing very helpful at the moment.

Good picture, but not good enough for the gallery, so I agree with Kay. But anyway, good work, Karin!

This is what I wrote the first time, and I still feel
the same way. As I am a beginner too I do
envy Karin for such a great photo so

Vanessa Torres, 9.09.2005 at 13:52h

Well, the photo is good... but sometimes I think is not enoug good for being on the gallery... I think lighting on the chapell is too high.. contra.

Ruud van der Lubben, 9.09.2005 at 13:52h

I agree with some of the opinions about this, it is a good try but not good enough for the gallery. (IMHO)
If i may give you a tip, try to do this just after sunset, when it is allmost dark, but there are still some last traces of daylight in the sky. In that way you will get more detail in some of the darker parts, while on top of that the mix of daylight and artificial light allmost allways creates a very special, and very nicely saturated result.
In the mean time for this one sorry, but i feel i have to vote contra.

@Kay
as I pointed out countless times before here... I am not interested AT ALL in insults, apologized for or not. It's like saying "your pic look like crap - but hey, I'm not saying it IS crap it just looks like it.
Unable to keep it polite, or add an advice how to improve things, you'd be truly better off voting anonymous Kay.

Kay Wölfle, 10.09.2005 at 21:12h

Just deleted my comments to stop this annoying discussion. I find Your reaction absolutely inappropriate!
This is too time consuming...

Karin D. Ludwig, 10.09.2005 at 21:21h

I certainly couldn't care less
