Inmitten des Ortes liegt der (am 19.02.2012) zugefrorene untere See. Über das Eis hinweg sind das alte Schloss und die Kirche"Zur Gottes Hilfe" oft fotografierte Motive. Hier in einem Panorama, das lks. am Gebäude der Touristinformation beginnt.
Stiege gehört sei dem 1.1.2010 zur Stadt "Oberharz am Brocken".
