The Waterbuck herd has had some babies in the past two months. During these times, the herd seldom gets out from the thick grass. They hide and their babies are even harder to find. As we drove past the herd the only visible parts of the animals were their heads and the male's horns.

love the sparse colors and the almost wintry, dark blue sky! and those waterbucks are really growing on me ; ))! this one looks lovely with his fur almost the same color as the dry grass! you can tell that the white in his fur is for camoulflage! must work brilliantly in combination with the grass and the sun… have a wonderful sunday, too, deryck! greetings, sabine.

oh, that a fantastic portrait. delicous these "silver strokes" in a fine contrast to the warm tones of the tall grass. great class also the soft and precious modulated finishs of the surroundings in direction to the cuts. an exellent first class portait image you´ve created here !!
