Pottwale sind die größten Lebewesen, die Zähne tragen. Ausgewachsene Männchen werden bis zu 20 Metern lang und wiegen rund 50 Tonnen. Der Verständigung und Orientierung dienen Klicklaute, die mit über 200dB weit über der menschlichen Hör-Schmerzschwelle liegen. Eine der besten Möglichkeiten Pottwale zu sehen ist Kaikoura auf Neuseelands Südinsel. Die steil abfallende Küste bietet den 2-3 Kilometer tief tauchenden Tieren ideale Gründe und lässt sie nah an Land kommen.

Wunderbares Bild.
Nicht nur weil ich mal eine BMW R hatte.
Die Idee ist klasse.
Da muß man erst mal dran denken.
Hab vor vielen Jahren auch mal die Waltour dort mitgemacht.
Wir hatten 2 einwandfreie Walsichtungen und auch noch viele Delphine.
War schon toll.
