…of a sight-seeing bus reflected in broad daylight on yet another temporary hoarding on hamburg’s jungfernstieg. it's made of wood and painted a shiny black. doesn't last long, though – two days later it's gone…*
(april 2011 – cropped but hardly edited. only lightened it a little)

*september 2011: a brand new mac store with a glassy facade has just emerged from behind the cocoon of the construction site!

This brightly red double-decker makes an impressive reflection on the hoarding for sure. What draws my attention though is this blurred black shape of a... yes of who? Looks like a passerby in a hurry? In a long dark coat?
I love how you always look for unusual ideas for your pictures, Sabine, perceiving the world from different perspectives. This picture is another example of your photographic creative freedom. Great. Hugs, V.

Eine Deiner ungewöhnlichen Sichten, die immer wieder beeindrucken, nicht zuletzt, weil sie einen ungewöhnlich einfachen Hintergrund für das Entstehen haben. Die Verzerrungen und der Schleier wirken wie durch eine Scheibe der Bushaltestelle aufgenommen. Den Wartenden scheint der endlich angekommene Bus nicht zu beeindrucken. Er wartet auf eine andere Linie.
Wie ich aber Deiner Beschreibung entnehme, bin ich hier völlig auf dem "Holz"weg. Das macht aber gar nichts. Wichtig sind die Geschichten, die sich aus der Darstellung entwickeln lassen.

It looks like an arty impressionist painting of a London bus to me!! Those crazy red buses are crawling everywhere in the capitol! You have had another good idea for a picture, I need to take a pictorial leaf out of your book and think outside the envelope in my picture taking. There are pictures everywhere if I look on a different level, open that mind Sally and think like Sabine does!!! ;)))

What a great shot Sabine. The combination of color and shadow makes a very strong photo. Add to that the blur and it borders on abstraction.

Like a painting of the Fauves, the picture has so retro-like been seen first and, next, shot. Still, it is a contemporary photo, no doubt about it: the rain on the glass, the urban elements of a big city, the western world's aesthetic... You certainly know what to do when you "see" it (the frame) "happening" in front of you!

Durch das Unscharfe, durch deine Bearbeitung, sehe ich einen Traum der mich nachts beglückt. Rot sehr deutlich, so wichtig und doch wird es durch die dunkle Person beruhigt.
Dies Bild ist wie ein Gemälde.
