Namibia : Coastal Dune Strip between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund
Saltbushes against the backdrop of a sand dune.The dark coloring on the sand dune is a darker sand blown there by strong south westerly winds. It is said that these sand grains are particles of heavy metals and their color ranges from purple to black depending on how much moisture (through the fog inflow) the sand has absorbed.
Salzbüsche vor einer Düne am Dünen Streifen der Küste zwischen Walvis Bay und Swakopmund. Der dunkele Sand ist Sand der durch den starken Südwest Wind angeweht wurde und aus kleinen Körnern von schweren Metallen besteht. Abhängig von wie viel Feuchtigkeit auf den Dünen liegt ((oft schwerer Nebel vom Atlantik) variieren die Farben von lila bis schwarz.

den oberen teil kann man wahlweise als eine art von weltuntergangshimmel oder aber als wüste anschauen....jedenfalls ist es ein ungewöhnliches bild.vg
