Bolan-Pass Scheiteltunnel in Kolpur, ungefähr 1900 M.ü.M. Eine ALCo (American Locomotive Co) ARPW20 der Pakistanischen Eisenbahn beschleunigt unseren Sonderzug - wir müssen noch vor Dämmerung Quetta erreichen. Die Bolan-Pass Strecke gehört zu den grossartigsten Eisenbahnbauten der Welt. Die Dozan-Schlucht mit ihrer Mondlandschaft wird mit Hilfe 40%o-Steigung durchgefahren - ein einzigartiges Erlebnis.
Not a steam locomotive shot but maybe one of the finest railway sight I've ever lived : an ARPW20 ALCo-diesel of Pakistan Railways is restarting a special train from Bolan Pass summit Tunnel at Kolpur, Balochistan Province, about 1900m above Sea level.
The Bolan Pass line from Sibi to Quetta is one of the most impressive railway achievement on Earth, riding the section through the remote Dozan Gorge and its lunar landscape was a breathtaking experience...

Das Foto gefällt mir ausgezeichnet! Tolles Motiv, super ausgeleuchtet und sehr schöner Bildaufbau!So etwas läßt sich ja als westlicher Tourist wohl auf Jahre hinaus nicht mehr realisieren.
