Deryck, i love the mood of this image. very dramatic scene. good idea to use the log as a foreground subject. also good use of the flash to add some details to the foreground....though I must admit I seldom use flash to add details to the fg.......i mostly use the bracketing technique and blend them manually in photoshop. but you did a great job here using the flash. If you wouldn't have mentioned using a flash I would not have seen it. it looks very natural. Beuatiful colrs as well.Rebekka D., 4.04.2011 at 18:56h

It was so worth getting up very early to get this wonderful result! I like the twisted detail on the log and the pinky touch to the cloud reflections. It looks a very still and calm place to be.Hugs
