The hallways don't talk, there is no technology the help say just where you are. It takes an inner sense to feel your way along the hallway path. If you have any optic sensitivity at all then out side of counting steps, and touching corners at the right moment , you have a gift to notice and change in the brightness of light that diminishes along the hallway path. If not maybe your other senses like to be able to feel the heat of the light change in temperature on your hand and face as you make your way. Strangely enough to be able to feel the light is a physics equation called the "Inverse Square Root Law". For us photographers that ever played with a flash . We can see out image where the flas had a perfect exposure on the subject , but a faded darker exposure in the background, and a brighter exposure in the foreground.
