Rainforest in Singapore - Parrots

Rainbow Lorikeet

It is not seldom that it gets loud in the trees in front of our house in Singapore, next to the rainforest. We have seen rare hornbills and many other native birds, but also parrots, and then it gets loud. As I understand, parrots are not native to Singapore, but... they are here. There is a great bird park in Jurong with an own lorikeet left. May be they escaped from there, may be they came up from Australia via Indonesia. Anyway, when parrots come to our house, they come in hundreds. An then... it's getting loud.

This is a Rainbow Lorikeet I "shot" in Jurong Bird Park, it's easier to get sharp pictures there then to climb onto the trees in the rainforst and - next to the pythons - wait for them.. ;-)

Manchmal wird"s laut in den Bäumen um unser Haus am Regenwald in Singapur. War haben Hornbills und andere einheimische Vögel hier gesehen, aber auch Papageien, und dann wird's laut. Zu meiner Kenntnis gibt es von Natur aus keine Papageien in Singapur, aber sie sind hier... und dann wird"s eben laut vor unserem Haus. Es gibt einen Vogelpark in Jurong, vielleicht sind sie ja von dort ausgebrochen, oder sie sind von Australien über Indonesien hierhergeflogen, was auch immer, wenn sie zu uns kommen dann kommen sie in Hundertschaften.

Das hier ist ein Rainbow Lorikett. Ich habe ihn im Jurong Bird Park fotografiert, das ist einfacher als im Regenwald nebenan auf die Bäume zu klettern und - neben den Pythons - auf sie zu warten...
