This bird lives in a wide extent of habitats including upland moors, grassy or boggy open areas in forests and damp grasslands.

German name : Grosser Brachvogel

: ))))) "wulp!" – i love that name!! sounds like feet wading through muddy swamps ; ))! he probably does that, too, from time to time… a beautiful portrait of another long-beaked specimen, so well-adapted to his environment! beautiful details in his lovely lit feathers! greetings, sabine.
Die Hütte ist Gold wert, Mark! Einen Grossen Brachvogel aus dieser Nähe fotografieren zu können ist etwas ganz Besonderes! Sehr schön das Licht und die feinen Details!
Gruß, Gunther
A gorgeous golden bird ... spectacular long bill, excellent the sharp details in his plumeage. Another fine capture - beautifully presented.
cheers, Adele
I love this shot. You must have some great equipment to be able to get so much detail. I was watching one of these last week in a creek in North Norfolk. They are such beautifully elegant birds and their camouflage is amazing and blends in perfectly with the marsh vegetation. Fantastic. By the way what equipment do you use Mark?
best wishes Jan
