The weekend after it started, I walked 32 kilometers to see the eruption. When I saw it, it was quite clear that I had to return during the night. A few days later, I did.
I think I can honestly say that this eruption is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, and no photograph can really show how amazing it is!
Of course I filled up my CF cards instantly during my second visit to the eruption site. Here is one of my favorites from that evening...
Nikon D300 + Nikkor 17-55/2.8 with a 3 stop ND filter & Lee 0.9 ND Grad...
Exposed for 6 seconds at F/10 & ISO 100.

Waouh, this is great!You got beautiful colors, but also a very interesting effect with the long exposure! This is a really good idea!

This is a beautiful landscape pictures.There is a good contrast (warm - cold). I also like the long time exposure. This gives a nice effect in the clouds!
