Anlie and I spent the weekend at the Hartebeestpoort Dam near Pretoria. The birdlife and the mountains surrounding the dam makes it one of the most popular weekend break aways nearby.

I got up early to watch the sunrise over the dam. The colours were simply irresistable as only the morning light can bring

I had been at the Hartebeestpoort Dam, too...it´s three years ago... beautiful light... african light at its best.

A really dreamlike landscape. The composition within the rule of thirds is absolutely superb. The colours are wonderfully natural and the light is beautiful. A picture which goes straight into my favourites.
