in Vancouver's Chinatown a store full of ancient dried and unusual remedies including these huge dried fungi in the front :-)))
(saving a few bead pictures for a "rainy day")

Interesting things are offered there. I also can imagine the smell of the dried fish , etc. These shops are similar throughaut the world, I mean. Good photo.

I think these are botanic ingredients for making Chinese medicines, not "drugs".

Die Pilze im Vorgrund links sehen aus wie Baumpilze. Niemand kann sicherlich sagen, ob sie giftig sind oder nicht. Aber die Chinesen essen viel, was wir nicht kennen.

ooh, watch out, adele: i see an evil glance coming your way! ; )) in fact, i think the owner of the store is just about to bend down and grab a yet bigger mushroom from below the counter and hurl it at you frisbee-style: "yee-haw, lady! NO PICTURE TAKING in my store!!" what a beautiful and exciting (and very, very well-organized!!) display of exotic foods and goods. can almost imagine the rich and spicy smell to go with it – – yikes, i'm bobbing down! here comes the fantabulous fungus frisbee… ; ))) hugs, sabine.
