from the apartment - across the street and beach and Burrard Inlet ....
I find the strip of water on the diagonal somewhat awkward, but the Inlet gets narrow here as it goes towards the Burrard Bridge and Granville Island ...... any ideas ???

A shooting point that highlights large areas.
Also the transverse cutting gives this sense.
Magnificent shot.
You want to dive into the green as well as in the sea
Hello Iole

Hello Adele,
Renate already found the right words.
Have a nice, relaxing weekend

Ruth Hutsteiner, 24.03.2012 at 8:04h

A subtle view of the beach.
The long shadows of the trees on the lawn are especially beautiful.
The apartment is so close to the beach. That's good, just a few steps to the water.

oh!! so the appartment is in vancouver?! when i clicked myself in the "for rent" shot, i thought i was somewhere down in florida ignorant me! should have known there's palm trees all over the world even in front of hamburg's alsterpavillon, and despite all our rain, we are as far from being tropical as possible ; )) oh, and are you going to rent this place, adele? this view in particular is so beautiful! the "log beach" one of my favorite "adele's-vancouver photo places" so far! my favorite detail (apart from the long, graceful shadows cast by the three trees) is the ant-like couple sharing both a log bench and an ocean view! ; )) hugs, sabine. p.s.: yes, the diagonal line separating the sand from the water does look a little strange, rendering the beach somewhat crooked. but i don't have any suggestion how to do it differently maybe you need to move in, settle on the balcony and take a whole series of shots until you know ; )))))

Loved the shadows of the trees Adele..Nice to see the diagonal and parallel lines...Great to be so close to the beach :-))
Much hugs,

Hab ein schönes WE!

Nice play of light and shadows in this shot.
The diagonal water line creates some kind of weird perspective, but well succeeded to my taste !

I like the way you did this. The triangular strip doesn't bother me because of the detail you have managed to retain there. It is offset beautifully with the long shadows on the lawn

Rainer Golembiewski, 24.03.2012 at 15:42h

klasse die Schatten - schönes Wochenende!

Urs Sommerhalder, 24.03.2012 at 17:05h

Vitória Castelo Santos, 24.03.2012 at 17:16h

I like this view Adele.
Greetings Vitoria

Sigrid E, 24.03.2012 at 18:03h

Jens Hansen, 24.03.2012 at 18:18h

I like the shot. The only improvement I would recommend is to reduce the brightness of the water strip....

Franz Bernhardt, 24.03.2012 at 19:43h

Very very long shadows to your palmtree-appartment! And with "See- und Rasenblick"! Inviting!

Claudio Micheli, 24.03.2012 at 19:44h

Veramente molto bella!

Leo_nid, 24.03.2012 at 23:03h

superb contrasty light with long shadows and sizable negative space in the FG... the slanting shoreline works great

Fritz Eichmann, 25.03.2012 at 10:37h

Nice play of light and shadows in this shot
this view is so beautiful..Adele

BRYAN CRUTE, 25.03.2012 at 16:16h

Lovely view, the lines work OK for me ?

corvosson, 25.03.2012 at 21:26h

JURAFR, 26.03.2012 at 9:00h
