Where reality and make-belief meet ...

Mural Art in Vancouver - here a real trompe l'oeil that fools the eye into believing the scene is real .... the backs of a row of low shops on Grandview Highway - incorporating an old railline.

I want to thank you all for showing so much interest in Vancouvers wall art - I really appreciate all your great comments !!!!

Here one has to look as closely to recognize reality and illusion. It is very well designed
But the foreground is however sad reality.

Hier ist die Eisenbahnromantik grau und die Realität ist farbig, das passt gut zu diesem Bild bei dem vertraute Sehgewohnheiten schon ziemlich auf die Probe gestellt werden!

Sehr interessant, da kann man sich lange damit beschäftigen. Ich finde auch den englischen Ausdruck "to fool the eye" bezeichnender als jeden deutschen.

That's incredible, the artist really knows what they are doing and I suspect they spent a lot of time looking at the site from different angles to get the perspective right and when that is spot on as it is here, the picture works like an optical illusion and draws alot of interest. Keep them coming Adele!
