The Nest of the Canada Goose

On a little used stretch of beach on Saltspring Island - the parents were not guarding their nest - still, I did not want to get too close.

Ein Osternest mit 6 noch weißen Eiern. Da waren sie fleißig die Eltern und haben weiche Polsterung herbeigeschafft. Sie waren sicher noch in der Nähe und haben Dich beobachtet. Nur gut, das du nur mit den Augen (der Kamera) stibitzt hast. Für einen Fuch wär es leichte Beute. (gibt es die eigentlich bei euch, die Füchse?)

Oh, ein ganz wundervolles Gelege - so schön ausgepolstert mit all den kleinen Federn! Alles sieht so solide aus - sehr schön angelegt haben sie den Platz für die zukünftigen Jungen! Feiner SChnappschuss!!!

They are very trusting to leave the nest and the eggs unattended! It looks so comfy in there, if I was an egg snuggled amongst all those downy, soft and fluffy feathers I wouldn't want to hatch!!

Interessant, daß diese ja doch schwarzweiße Gans vollkommen weiße Eier hat. Wo bist Du denn da "rumgestiefelt", daß Du dieses Nest gefunden hast. Sehr schönes Foto.
