Black Oystercatchers
posing on a bed of oysters and mussels ..... these birds are well equipped with their long strong beaks to break open the hard oysters.
I took the photo rowing by in our little dinghy.

Hello Adele, Thank you for showing me this picture of these lovely birds. They are so like their cousins over here in the uk. As you also say they can open up shellfish so quickly using that strong beak that they have.best wishes from Lawson.
