This beautiful wall sculpture depicting the arrival of the first Italian settlers in La Boca is just outside of the colourful Caminito area. Now boarded up it is a sad contrast to the vibrant tourist zone. The kids and the poster were right beside this building.

Thank you for your many visits and generous comments.
Wishing you all a great weekend - our Parolympics are beginning.
Thank you so much for your nomination into the gallery, Hardy from
kunterbuntschwarz!!!! A great surprise!!!
@Lucy:
What looks like a lamppost looked to me like a ship's mast and yes, an anchor - and I presume it would have been together with the sculpture - a memorial to the arrival of the Italians by sea, and possibly to the lost sailors.

another beautiful bueons-aires impression! great how the plants seem to have taken over the wall sculpture and added a certain "decadent" charm to it, symbolizing the time span that has passed between the first settlers and their successors – e.g. the cute little boy that's nonchalantly leaning in the window! hugs, sabine.
a great dialog beetween the kids, and congruent a
great dialog between the real new life and the pathetic "Kitsch"
of a yesterday... excellent speaking street, great realisation !
Yes, it is sad that this wonderful art is forgotten by all but the greenery! Someone spent many hours sculpting that. At least you have captured it.

Good scene, although I would have chosen a closer crop. Crop from the left and a good part from above.
But that completely a matter of personal taste. As you said..."through your eyes"... :-)
Das Leben scheint sich hier in mehreren Ebenen abzuspielen, die nichts mehr voneinander wissen, sehr interessant und eindrucksvoll präsentiert!
Liebe Grüße, Ernst
