Austernfischer auf der Düne von Helgoland

Der Austernfischer (Haematopus ostralegus) ist einer der charakteristischsten Vögel der Nordseeküste. Er gehört zur Ordnung der Wat-, Möwen- und Alkenvögel (Charadriiformes) und zur Gattung der Austernfischer. Seine größte Verbreitung in Europa hat er im Wattenmeer und dem küstennahen Binnenland der Nordsee, wo er auch die scherzhafte Bezeichnung Halligstorch trägt.(Wikipedia)
