Here’s a second picture of castle ‘Froidcour’ showing another side of its impressive appearance.

The first castle at this site was built in early medieval times to guard the valley of the river Amblève.

Around 1600 a new castle was built on the foundations of the old one but that too was demolished and replaced by the present castle in neo-medieval style at the beginning of the 20th century (1912 – 1919)

The castle is superbly located, isolated and surrounded by vast forests.

Dieses Schloss ist ein richtiges Schmuckstück! Herrlich, die vielen Giebel und Türmchen! Die Lage ist bezaubernd - ringsum herrliche Wälder und dazu das saftige Grün der Büsche und der Wiesen - ein Ort, um die Seele baumeln zu lassen!

Belgien ist gesegnet mit wunderbaren Schlössern. Wenn man bedenkt, dass es früher zu den reichen Habsburgern gehörte, ist es kein Wunder.
Dein Bild zeigt sehr fein die beeindruckende Architektur in der kraftvollen Waldlandschaft.
