The Fungi World (139) : Wood Blewit

When the nights are getting colder and approaching frost temperatures the Wood Blewit starts to grow.

Its fine purple tones make it an attractive fungus that can be found on decaying leaf litter in both coniferous and deciduous woodlands.

Dutch name : Paarse Schijnridderzwam
German name : Violetter Rötelritterling
Latin name : Clitocybe nuda (previous Lepista nuda)

A big thanks to Sylvia Schulz for the kindly nomination of this picture.
