The Palace ‘Margaret of Austria’ at Mechelen (Belgium)
This is the inner courtyard of Margaret of Austria’s palace in late-gothic style.
The residence dates from the beginning of the 16th century.
At that time of history, Margaret of Austria was the archduchess of the Burgundian Netherlands (= present-day Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and parts of northern France).
