These little geckos are everywhere in our garden. We love watching them, but every now and then they become "catfood". This one, after having a close encounter with our cat, sat on the edge of the daylily long enough for me to get my camera and take a few shots, while making sure the cat has found enough "good food" in the kitchen

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday and 3rd Advent

oh, this is just magic, deryck!! flower shots are always hard to comment on for me! i think it's because their beauty is always right there, out in the open – no need to explore further and dig it out ; )), so i'm always glad if someone succeeds in turning them into a whole universe!! and you (and the amazingly patient gecko!!) succeeded in doing just that for me! a really great capture! and a glimpse into the brightly colored everyday life of the lizardly little guy! love how there seems to be a content smile on his face – "today i'm in the mood for pictures, so shoot away, photographer!" – and his tail, hanging down into the abyss of the flowery inside even mirrors the shape of those streaks on the petals!! lg, sabine. p.s.: the flower is beautiful, too ; ))))!

Mark Billiau., 12.12.2010 at 12:14h

I don't know what I like most here : the flower or the Gecko ?
Think I go for the small lizard, or..... no wait, maybe the flower with all its colours.
Allright, then I go for the 2 beauties !
Good one, Deryck.

Birgit Presser, 12.12.2010 at 12:17h

Daniel Haeker, 12.12.2010 at 13:18h

Oh, right, there's a Gecko, too ;) Just to compare the Gecko's size to the "enormous" flower is amazing!
Best wishes

Sally Dunn, 17.12.2010 at 12:56h

Catfood!!! I never thought of that! Here cats just eat birds, slow worms, mice, voles and the occasional bat. (poor things) Marvellous colour of the lily, a reminder of summer days!

nyhr, 17.12.2010 at 19:09h

Strong photo. How small the Gecko is. By us feed the cats only mice and birds. Never heard that cats eat geckos. Very interesting.
Greetings, Karin
