The Fungi world (53) : Pestle Puffball
Off-white when young, but in the mature stage, the Pestle Puffball becomes brownish.
At the end of its life, a perforation in the top opens and its spores are released when the body is compressed by rain drops, falling nuts, etc.

German name : Beutelstäubling
Latin name : Calvatia excipuliformis

Was für Schätze Du entdeckst ... Von dieser Art habe ich als Biologielehrerin noch nie etwas gehört oder gesehen. Er sieht mir aus, als würde er zu den Bovisten gehören.Die Aufnahme ist wie immer bestens gelungen. Vor allem die zarten Farben und Strukturen der Hutoberfläche finde ich reizvoll.
Übrigens gefällt mir der engliche Name besonders gut.
