beautiful!!! what i like about canyons is, how they often show both sunny and shadowy areas at the same time, like in this shot, where the cool dark foreground is contrasted with the sunkissed "range" in the back – terrific! and the somewhat "flat" clouds seem to match the smooth, equally flat(-topped) appearance of the rocks perfectly! greetings, sabine. p.s.: "dead horse state park" – what a name! makes me think of that passage in steinbeck's "east of eden", where he reflects on the fascinating and arbitrary names of landscapes and mountains, and how there must be stories and fates attached to them…
