snow buddies left whitehorse for the thousand
m i l e ... ! !
search for fairbanks
this morning
but not wilbur's team -
my favourite leader, team and family
did not make the quest start this year
but i wish them
the very best! of luck
and hope to see them
the quest racers should all be
at the finish line
in a couple of weeks -
i'll wait patiently ...
woof!
2005 was my first-try at taking some photos of
'the world's toughest sled-dog race', the yukon quest,
and my efforts were flawed technically.
but this picture will always be a favourite of mine ...
despite my slowness with the shutter button,
wilbur's eyes leave no doubt that he's doing the thing he loves to do,
and his mates -
including two-time-quest-winner
john schandelmeier from paxson alaska -
are more than happy to follow and share the spoils ...
thanks from the heart to zoya for introducing me to the crazy dog kennels team -
a truly great! team-and-family -
and to all the team for letting me wander around with my camera.
some day i hope to take
some much better photographs ... ;-)))
Amazing action photo - I can see why it's a favourite. I'm always fascinated by the energy these dogs release. And they seem to enjoy it too! cheers Kathryn
They look like they are enjoying the work. Well taken Rob. I like it. You have captured the energy in the sport. I believe there are dog team races out here but not in snow. Seems like football without a ball to me..Cheers..Rob
These dogs are amazing! they seem to enjoy the run, doing it all together. fantastic shot and very intersting for me to see something I have never seen.
Good stuff Rob, the photo may not be pin sharp but you've certainly captured the atmosphere of the event and the dogs seemto be enjoying the challenge.
Regards, Stu.
Umwerfend, das riesige Gespann, die Wettkampf-Stimmung und die Freude der Hunde ist spürbar. Bei so einem Rennen dabei zu sein ist auch noch mein Traum!
wow robert, great dynamic touch in here; besides that the fresh coldness is to be felt easily... wonderful document of races that we - at this part of the world - seldom get to see and of how lovely and bright wintertime can be !!!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
Quels magnifiques chiens courageux et tout!!!!
Très belle prise!!
BRAVO
J'aime trop les chiens moi aussi!!!
J'en ai deux pour l'instant.
Amitiés
