La imagen está tomada desde la máxima altura de España, la cima del Teide, a 3.717 m, en la isla de Tenerife. Fue un día del mes de Mayo, habíamos salido del refugio de Altavista, de madrugada, para llegar a la cima y ver el amanecer. Resultó un espectáculo memorable ver el mar de nubes y cómo, lentamente, iba surgiendo del mar, por la zona de Anaga, iluminándolo todo, el sol. Girando la cabeza hacia atrás vimos la sombra que el inmenso volcán proyectaba sobre la Gomera. Inolvidable, de verdad.
