This shot is in downtown Mukilteo, Washington, at the lighthouse and close to the /ferry landing. Ferry traffic can back up on the highway for miles, which discourages shopping for anything other than food and drink. No Walmart, clothing store, car dealership, MacDonald's, Indian Casino, Hardware outlet, grocery, theater, or . . . It's a quiet place with few sidewalks, too many stop signs, and an old house with a pizza parlor downstairs. It's on the Puget Sound, and Boeing builds commercial jets in its backyard at Paine Field, which the county's non-Mukilteo folks want to turn into a SeaTac-like air port. Supporters claim noise isn't an issue. No one in town believes them.
